Please join the Sandia Collaborative members for our August 2021 virtual meeting via Zoom or in person at SMNHC. The meeting agenda is available at this link. Links to pertinent documents and web resources are also included below.

The Sandia Collaborative will continue its work identifying ways to improve the management of the forest, wildlife, vegetation and cultural and recreational resources of the Sandia Mountains and how to reduce wildfire risk in six areas of the La Madera Project. The intent is to identify and come to agreement on recommendations to make to the US Forest Service by October 2021.

Teams of Collaborative members and participants have been meeting around 6 geographic focal areas. The teams will report out on their last meeting. Meeting participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

This monthly general meeting will be followed by a SMNHC facilities tour from 10:00- 11:00, then for those able and willing to hike, an informative walk of Mud Spring Loop (1.5 miles and 400 feet gain) to see the spring, adjacent ruins, wilderness corner post & boundary line, from 11:00-1:00. Bring your lunch.
