The September monthly meeting of the Sandia Collaborative will focus on member concerns with the draft Cibola Land Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement which have been released for public comment. The agenda is here.
The meeting will be held at the James McGrane Public Safety Complex in Tijeras. Monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month and start at 9:30 am. Coffee and pastries are served at 9 am
The Collaborative will also prepare questions for the Cibola National Forest Public Meeting to be held September 26, 5 - 7 pm at the Manzano Mesa MultiGenerational Center - West Social Hall.
Friday, August 9th, Cibola National Forest announced the publication of the NOA and release of the draft land management plan (Draft Plan) and associated draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the Cibola National Forest (NF).
"The Notice of Availability (NOA) for the Cibola NF DEIS has been published in the EPA Federal Register today, August 9, 2019, which initiates the 90-day comment period on our Draft Plan and DEIS from August 9, 2019 to November 7, 2019. The NOA is available on the EPA Federal Register site at the following link here.
All documents are available for review and download on our Cibola NF plan revision website at the following link: http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/CibolaForestPlanRevision. Hard copies of the Draft Plan, Volumes 1 and 2 of the DEIS, and the map packet are available to review (for reference only) at all Cibola NF District offices, the Supervisor’s Office, and local libraries (see attached public meeting flyer for list and addresses).
The 90-day comment period is active and the public may submit electronic, written, or hand-delivered comments concerning these draft documents; please refer to the attached ‘How to Comment’ document. (Found here.) To be accepted, all comments must be postmarked by the last date of the comment period, November 7, 2019 at 11:59:59PM. We are encouraging the public to submit comments electronically via our online commenting tool, Comment Analysis and Response Application, or CARA, where you can fill out the form or upload a comment letter at the following link here.
